Alberta Health Services app good for
I like to see governmental organizations utilizing such technologies
Fantastic! Works great. Should help all Calgarians and visitors to our city. Apparently other Alberta cities and towns are coming too. Excellent work.
What about minor treatment centers? Maybe try to get less serious cases to go their instead?
Very useful app.
If you live in Calgary.
I have deleted it and will wait till it is available for Edmonton (the capital of Alberta).
Great app and easy to use. Hear they will be adding all the emergency departments over the next year. Lots of good info.
Great app. It said Wait times unavailable for about 15 seconds before it loaded. Other than that, the app is awesome. Both times I visited the ER in Edmonton, wait times were very accurate.
Some bad moments
I guess Calgary is the only city in the province! If Im in Cow Town dying, I guess this app would be helpful...another disappointment for those residing in the Capital city!!
So, this app has started with a number of hospitals in Calgary, which is great, and this app is free but how about at least information on hospitals in major centres across Alberta including the capital city, and other major centres such as Grand Prairie, Red Deer, and others?
Edmonton? Red Deer? Fort Mac? Unless u intend to go to Calgary this app is useless.
Every time I check, times are unavailable. Less then 1 star. Is this going to be fixed??
AHS needs to do some public education to let people know that while it may display a lower time to get in and be seen by a triage nurse that means not much when you take into consideration how many patients may already be waiting to get into the department after being triaged.
As an emergency department worker Im tired of seeing people come in to our hospital, get triaged quickly with sometimes very mild issues compared to other patients, then be upset and angry at the healthcare workers when they have to wait to get into the department longer than expected because we are busy with acutely critical patients.
Take the wait times you see with a grain of salt and be prepared to wait even if its reporting a supposedly low time. Dont forget about the availability of walk in clinics if your problem is not acutely needing attention, many times you can be in and out quicker if you had gone to a medicenter vs an emergency department.
At least 50% I try and use it, it says wait times unavailable. Kind of defeats the purpose.
